Samsung Galaxy S7 Plus Schematics

Keeping a smartphone under wraps these days has become an almost impossible feat for the biggest players. There was a time, not too long ago, when the world would get its first look at a brand new handset the day a company unveiled it.

On Jan. 9, 2007, when Steve Jobs took the stage at MacWorld Expo in San Francisco, he was about to introduce the world to a device that was very different from current smartphones, and a huge part of it was design. Months leading up to the event, there were reports that Apple was planning to use sliding physical keyboards to compete with BlackBerry and Palm’s Treo lineup, which were among the most popular smartphones on the market and used physical QWERTY keyboards.

When Steve Jobs finally unveiled the iPhone, it looked like a very different device and skipped the plastic QWERTY keyboard for a virtual keyboard that would only appear when it was needed and disappear when it wasn’t, something BlackBerry and Palm weren’t offering. The first generation iPhone was among the last high profile devices to not leak in the form of images and schematics.

We just reported that Samsung has reportedly seen its Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge leak in the form of schematics, which provided images showing their designs and dimensions. Now, the company’s upcoming Galaxy S7 Plus has seen the same fate, weeks ahead of its unveiling.

According to a new report, the schematics for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 Plus, which will go head to head with Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus, have been provided by a third-party case maker. The images appear to confirm that Samsung is planning to go big, literally, with the S7 Plus by using a large six-inch display. The source, however, did not include dimensions of the Galaxy S7 Plus.

With only a few more weeks to Samsung’s Feb. 21 Unpacked Event, you can bet this won’t be the last we’re hearing new details regarding the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S7 Plus and S7 Edge Plus. We’ll keep you posted on any new details as they emerge.
