Nykaa
TVS Capital Funds Ltd is set to acquire a minority stake in Mumbai-based online beauty products retailer Nykaa.com. TVS Capital will put in Rs. 25 crores of Rs. 60 crores Series C funding, Livemint reported. Founded in 2012 by Falguni Nayar, former managing director of Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, the firm claims to offer over 300 brands and 15,000 products, and ships to more than 900 cities across the country and almost 9,000 zip codes.
Pickingo, Grab
Zomato announced that it has made strategic investments in two hyperlocal delivery players – Gurgaon-based Pickingo, and Mumbai-based Grab. Zomato also partnered with Delhivery, the popular logistics startup that provides supply chain solutions to online and offline retailers. The company did not disclose financial details of the transaction, which are said to be in the high single-digit stakes.
Meradoctor
Mumbai-based health consultation app Meradoctor has raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding from IndiaQuotient along with a few leading angel investors, VC Circle reported. The firm reportedly claimed to have done over two lakh virtual doctor consultations on its smartphone messaging platform, with around 200,000 downloads on its Android app, and receives 4,000 to 5,000 patients a day.
Jobspire
Manipal-based Jobspire, which offers a curated marketplace for recruitment has secured $262,000 (roughly Rs. 1.7 crores) in seed funding from Purvi Capital, Nikunj Jain, Willfly Ventures, Krishna Jha of Telnet Ventures, Sanjay Bakshi of Impulse Marketing, Kapil Nayyar of International Business Advisors and Artieca Trust. According to inputs provided by startup data tracker Tracxn, the firm launched out of stealth mode this week, and charges 7 percent of a hire’s annual salary, only upon successful hiring.
