The results are in and both Bethesda and developer id Software have crowned an appropriately hellish winner to feature on the reverse sleeve cover for Doom.
Both parties hosted a straw poll via Twitter, allowing fans to vote on two different options. Once the results were tallied up, the final reverse sleeve (pictured below) was a clear winner, drawing almost 70 percent of the 62,000 votes.
It’s one that harkens back to the original art from ’93, featuring a space marine mowing down waves of demons. Bethesda hosted the poll partially in response to the general apathy directed at Doom‘s standard cover, which became an Internet meme for all the wrong reasons.
Doom raises hell across PS4, Xbox One and PC on May 13.
