Facebook has succeeded in expanding its services to include live content, with plans to collaborate with NBCUniversal’s E! entertainment network on a daily live talk show, reports Variety.
The entertainment news and gossip series launched Monday, March 21 on Facebook Live, and will run for 15-20 minutes every weekday at 12:30 pm EST.
The deal is a big win for both companies–around 9 million people have “liked” E!’s Facebook page, and its network has generated some 55 million views on the social media platform.
The launch is a result of increased efforts by Facebook to snag TV networks, sports leagues like the NFL and celebrities to bring live content to its users. It is currently bidding to get online rights to the NFL’s “Thursday Night Football.”
