PS4 news: Destiny 2 beta and PlayStation Plus update

PS4 news: Destiny 2 beta and PlayStation Plus update
The final preparations are now being made by Bungie for the Destiny 2 beta.

The official test kicks off on the PS4, followed by the Xbox One and much later on, the new PC platform.

Destiny 2’s early-access to the open beta begins July 18, at 6pm BST on PS4 and July 19, at 6pm BST on Xbox One.

Speaking about the impending launch, a new Bungie blog explains: “In addition to the new hotness, there will be some familiar (but updated) subclasses for you to play as well.

“The Beta will include Striker, Gunslinger, and Voidwalker with all of their Grenades, Melees and the top path of their abilities unlocked. The bottom paths will be saved for you to experience in the full game.

“When the Beta begins, we’ll be right beside you. We’re extremely excited to get to play Destiny 2 with the community for the first time.

“We’re also eager to see what we can learn from you. This process began today. If you are good to go, you can start pre-loading now. Our friends from Destiny Player Support have the full details below in the “What’s Up DOC” report. “

It has now been confirmed that the Destiny 2 pre-load weighs in at around 13GB on PlayStation 4.

It’s a pretty hefty size, although Bungie have confirmed that The Farm social space will be available to explore, which probably makes up a big chunk of that download.

The PlayStation Plus July 2017 lineup looks to have been a success for Sony, who apparently managed to get the right mix of title this month.

Fans online seemed pretty pleased with the lineup of Until Dawn and Game of Thrones – A Telltale Series for PS4, as well as new Playlink title, That’s You.

But for some fans, there’s been a big PS Plus games update.

PlayStation Plus Asia subscribers are getting another title to download this month, to celebrate ACGHK 2017.

The 2017 Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong event is apparently big enough to warrant Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition being added to the PS4 games lineup.

This might have been the first month that the EU roster looked better than the Asian version, with more indie titles being added to the roster this month.

The PS Plus Asia lineup currently includes: Telltale’s Game of Thrones: The Complete Season, Fat Princess Adventures, Hatoful Boyfriend, Eat Them!, Element4L, Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess and Darksiders II.

One thing to note, however, is that Until Dawn has already been given away as part of the PS Plus lineup in Asia.

This happened in February, while other games such as Just Cause 3 and God of War 3 Remastered have also been featured in the past.
