Tech gadgets are no longer just for your travels and work life. It’s time to introduce your favorite tech life savers into your wedding day. Social media is of course a game changer in how we are documenting and preserving wedding-day memories. And that state-of-the-art technology should be reaching every last detail of your wedding day!

Want to take your wedding to the next level and make it totally unique? Here are the five best wedding tech gadgets to say hello to in 2017.

1. Virtual Reality
You may have hired a photographer and a videographer, but one more piece to the puzzle to consider is hiring someone to film a virtual-reality wedding video using 360 degree 3-D technology. That way, after the wedding, you a can relive the entire view of the day while also wearing a cool pair of VR googles or a VR headset.

2. Drones
Yes, it’s true, drones are starting to pop up everywhere. Soon, drones may be delivering our groceries to us so we don’t have to leave the couch. But right now, they are appearing at weddings, capturing photos and videos from high up in the sky. Consider getting your own drone for the day, and asking a trusted guest to take control of it to capture cool moments from the wedding, or ask your photographer or videographer if there’s a drone package you can upgrade to.

3. Projector
Have an idea of what kind of design you’d like to have on your cake but don’t think any baker out there can pull it off? One thing you can do is have a projector push an image onto a cake. People have done this before, and it looks awesome, whether it’s a Disney animation or a short video of the couple.

4. LED Wedding Dress
If you are looking to really shine on your wedding day, get an LED dress made of fiber-optic cables, which will make your entire dress light up for pictures and for your guests on the big day. Claire Danes and Katy Perry have both worn LED dresses on the red carpet.

5. Charging Stations
Having stations set up where people can charge their phones will be one way to ease the stress and anxiety your guests may be feeling when their phone battery starts to drain throughout the night. That way, you’re sure to get as many pictures as possible.

Jen Glantz is the founder of Bridesmaid for Hire and the author of the new book Always a Bridesmaid (for Hire). She frequently wears old bridesmaids’ dresses to the grocery store and on first dates.
