Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

Samsung just released its Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy Note 4 in Hungary. A user has posted a video showing off some of the new features and updated TouchWiz UI.

A newly leaked Android 6.0 Marshmallow update releaseschedule for current and previous flagship smartphones from Samsung hit the Web and provided owners with an ETA of when they could expect to receive an update to Google’s latest version of Android.

Galaxy Note 5 owners will be the first to get a taste of Marshmallow and are slated to receive the update at some point this month, while the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and S6 Edge+ are scheduled to get their update to Android 6.0 in January.

We’ve already seen the progress Samsung has made with its Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 when images of the new OS were spotted running on the smartphone leaked in early December.

According to Samsung’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow update release schedule, the Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge should receive the update in February and it’s possible that Note 4 owners in particular could get their taste of Marshmallow sooner. Samsung just released the software update to the unlocked Note 4 in Hungary and now a new video has surfaced that provides a look at the major OS update in action.

Note 4 owners will immediately notice the updated version of TouchWiz, which now features flatter, rounded icons. The user also shows off updated S Pen functionality that was previously exclusive to the flagship Note 5. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on the Note 4 adds the Note 5’s Air Command menu, which is automatically activated when the S Pen is removed from the handset, in addition to the Off Screen Memo feature that allows users to quickly take notes with the enhanced stylus without turning on the device.

In addition, the video provides a look at some of Android 6.0 Marshmallow’s new features, like Google Now on Tap, the battery-enhancing Doze feature and more. The user also demonstrates why Samsung hasn’t released this update to more regions and how it needs to be optimized more. There is a noticeable lag when using the task manager/multitasking feature and Samsung Cloud stops working during the demo.

Check out the video for a more in depth look at Android 6.0 Marshmallow running on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
