Nokia licensee HMD Global seems to be keeping its promise of regular updates for its new Android smartphones. Nokia 6, the original comeback smartphone for the iconic brand, is now receiving Android 7.1.2 Nougat update that brings with it the October Android security update, users report.
Apart from bumping the version to 7.1.2, the new update weighs around 665MB and is available over-the-air also brings improved system stability and user interface enhancements. Considering that the new update has just started rolling out, it could take some time to reach all Nokia 6 users.
Nokia 6 (Review) users can manually check for updates via Settings > About Phone > System Update. The update was first reported GSMArena. For Nokia 6 users, HMD Global has already confirmed that the smartphone will be receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo update.
To recall, the Nokia 6 price in India is Rs. 14,999, and it features an aluminium unibody design, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos audio, and a fingerprint sensor. As for specifications, the dual-SIM Nokia 6 sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone features a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, an f/2.0 aperture, a 1-micron pixel sensor, and dual-tone LED flash. The Nokia 6 has an 8-megapixel autofocus front camera with an f/2.0 aperture and an 84-degree wide-angle lens.
