Be it movies, sports, or any other aspect of life, if a formula works we try and apply it wherever possible. After making successful mobile board-style games out of franchises Tomb Raider and Hitman, Square Enix has decided to apply the same formula to Deus Ex franchise now.
Ahead of the release of Deus Ex Mankind Divided next week, the company has released a turn-based puzzle infiltration stealth mobile game called Deus Ex Go and from the early customer reviews, it seems like the game will receive the same warmth from critics that Hitman Go and Lara Croft Go style games from the company received.
Just like the original game series, you play as Adam Jensen in the mobile game and as per game description “you’ll hack, use combat and augmentations to solve the most intricate puzzles of the entire GO series and unravel the conspiracy behind a terrorist plot.”
The mobile game is available for both Android and iOS. On both Google Play and the App Store, the game will cost you Rs. 300.
The earlier games in this genre have been praised for their designs and Lara Croft Go even went ahead to win an Apple award for Best iPhone Game of the Year 2015.
Square Enix seems to have found the best way to make successful video game franchise turn into well-made mobile games and unless it makes a mess of its strategy, it is likely to continue with this winning pattern.
