Smartphone brand Comio on Wednesday launched its C2 budget smartphone in India. The new Comio handset has been priced by the company at Rs. 7,199 and will be made available from Wednesday itself through the company’s retail stores in North and West India as well as online through online marketplaces like Snapdeal, Flipkart, Amazon, ShopClues, and Paytm. The handset will be made available in Royal Black and Royal Blue colours.
The highlight features on the budget segment Comio C2smartphone include a massive 4000mAh battery and stock Android experience, as per the company’s press release. The C2 runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and there is anti-theft software preloaded in every handset as well. “In case of any suspicious activity, SIM based alerts are shared with the registered alternate mobile number. One of the interesting feature of Anti-theft is the image click seek, wherein when someone tries to unlock the device by trying to break the pattern or PIN, the device will automatically take the image of the unauthorised person. This Intruder Selfie allows you to easily see who has tried to unlock your device without your authorisation,” the company said in its release.
Coming to other specifications, the dual-SIM C2 smartphone sports a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display and is powered by a MediaTek MTK6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and coupled with Mali T720 GPU and 2GB of RAM. In terms of optics, the handset packs an 8-megapixel primary rear camera, tagged with flash, and another 8-megapixel camera at front for taking selfies.
Comio’s new C2 smartphone comes with 16GB of built-in storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). It measures 144×71.6×9.9mm and the connectivity options offered by the handset include 4G VoLTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, and GPS.
Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, CEO and Director at Comio India commented on the launch by saying, “In a very short span of time since our India launch, we have received a tremendous response from our consumers. With the launch of Comio C2, we are moving towards are vision of becoming leaders in the INR 6-10K (mid-segment). The C2 has been designed keeping the Indian smartphone user in mind, one who is looking for a fully loaded handset at an affordable price point.”
