We’re back! I’m thrilled to finally be able to give you the answer you’ve been waiting for: Naughty Dog’s next game is Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which is currently being developed for the PlayStation 5. We’ve been working on this brand-new adventure since 2020! This is going to be our wildest and most original story yet in this game. Check out the trailer for the announcement if you haven’t already: Jordan A is our newest protagonist in Intergalactic. Mun, a risky bounty hunter who winds up stranded on Sempiria, a faraway planet whose connection to the rest of the universe has been cut off for hundreds of years. In fact, anyone who’s flown to it hoping to unravel its mysterious past was never heard from again. Jordan will have to use all her skills and wits if she hopes to be the first person in over 600 years to leave its orbit.
Beyond that, we are keeping the story completely under wraps, at least for the time being. What we can tell you is that this game lives up to the Naughty Dog tradition of creating an emotional, character-driven epic journey. Only our ambitions for the gameplay can compare to our narrative goals. This will be the deepest gameplay in Naughty Dog’s history, taking our learnings from our previous franchises and pushing them beyond anything we’ve ever done before.
Jordan is played by the talented Tati Gabrielle, who leads a stellar cast (pun intended!). Players with keen eyes might recognize some of the other actors in the trailer. We will reveal additional details about our ensemble later. A soundtrack that is just as amazing is necessary for our incredible journey into the cosmos. I’m thrilled to announce our collaboration with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who will be scoring Intergalactic! We are huge fans of their work. The trailer only provides a brief hint of the cooking that the guys will be doing for the game. We know you’re eager for more – and trust us, we’re very eager to share more with you.
